Lower Body Posterior Chain Training

I’ve enjoyed Bret Contreras’s hip thrusts, but hate getting squished at the bottom.  Maybe (probably) I’m just being soft, but here is some training randomness with one solution we use to get the weighted hip extension for glute and hamstring training.

Workout:

1.  Heavy Hip Thrusts 5 x 5

1b.  Unweighted Reverse hypers 5 x 15

2.  Trap Bar Deadlifts x 5 with 20 yard farmer’s walk then DL x 5

3.  Reverse Sled Drags 5 x 20 yds

4.  Roller Elevated Sprinter Bridges 3 x 5
