I was fortunate enough to try out this exercise with Smitty over at the Diesel Crew a few weeks ago. The Elite Swiss Bar felt great, but unfortunately I dont have one! I tried it out with my log, DBs, and keg (both empty and water filled). I also messed around with a band to try to take into account the strength curve.
In my opinion the log worked the best. I was able to hold more weight during the isometric bicep hold and I still able to explosively press it. The dumbbells were the most difficult, with my wrist being the weak point.
It is a quality lift to hit as a supplemental exercise. (Picture tossing someone in wrestling or MMA.)
