I found this video on Youtube and thought it would be an important share – a look inside Tennessee football training.
Unlike other college strength and conditioning videos I have posted in the past, I am not looking to comment on the style of training.
Instead this is all about the mentality of training.
I know the video shows a lot of accessory work and a few group exercises, but that’s not the important part. I know they will train a lot more than what is shown.
The fact is these athletes seem to have bought into a program 100% and the coach has a good motivator on Thursday’s to bind them together and get them focused on training.
“Get Big Thursdays”
A lot of training styles will work….ONLY if you buy into it!
Do you use a weekly motivator?
I love “Strongman Saturday’s” during the summer at our place. Really brings out the comradery!
*I forgot to add my usual disclaimer about the videos, Johnathon’s comment reminded me. All youtube videos, pro workouts in magazines, etc are all just a glimpse at what they do*

First i want to mention that the video shows very little to what the Volunteers do. As a D1-A and NFL athlete you have to buy into something like this. The programs are developed to cater to every position at the same time accomplish speed and strength. It speaks for itself Tennessee’s football program is very dominate and they recruit the best. Most of their athlete when its time to go Pro don’t leave the facilities to train at API or Tom Shaws cause their programs are just as advanced. If they offered a open clinic tomorrow id be there!!! what else is there to say?
John, good point I forgot to add my typical disclaimer when posting the videos – updated it up top.
